Site

I sincerely apologize for the site being down over the weekend. As it turned out, the yearly domain name registration was due. I had received an email about that several days ago…..which I promptly forgot about. So it was entirely my fault.

Soooo…. to make it up to you all, I will be adding another post today. I hadn’t intended to add until early Feb, but I feel I owe you all something for the frustration you endured this weekend. I will be posting a profile on a very interesting longarm quilter today. I think you’ll all enjoy this one!

Thank you for your patience. Again, I sincerely apologize for the mistake.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

New year…..new beginnings!  With the new year, I was inspired to start some new projects. This is the first and most exciting one on my agenda! I want to tell you what’s going on here and what you can expect to find here.

I started this new project because I was really enjoying the magazine articles and profiles I’ve been writing for magazines such as The Professional Quilter and I wanted to take this a step farther and dig a little deeper. I want to offer you more longarm training, more profiles on wonderful longarm quilters, more useful tools to make you a better quilter. And I wanted to give it all to you in one spot ~ one place where you can go and easily find the information you need, and the inspiration you crave! I want you to be a happy, fulfilled, experienced, and fantastic longarm quilter. And I want to give you the tools to be all of those things and MORE!

The plan here is for me to provide you with a monthly newsletter which will contain some “how-to” info, some technical info and some things to inspire you to create.  I’ll be writing the “how-to” articles, along with an occasional business related one, some profiles on other longarm quilters and people in our industry, and reviews of products on the market. Charlie Presler of Prodigy Quilting Machines has offered to write the technical articles for us. Jamie Wallen and Dusty Farrell (two of the most artistic, creative people I know!) have offered to start off our artistic endeavors. I’ll be inviting others to join us here from time to time, too.  I’m also planning some video interviews with other well-known and not-so-well-known-yet people in our industry, and some instructional videos.

This newsletter will be available only online and I’m offering the first year’s subscription at a very low rate. I took into consideration that the first year will be a learning curve for me. I’ve done a blog in the past, but not to this extent, so this will be a “work in progress” as I learn how to use all the tools available here. So, as I progress and improve and provide you with a better product over the coming months, the rate will increase, but I don’t expect that increase to be significant. Since this is being done in a blog format the associated costs for me are fairly low, plus there are several benefits. You will always have access to the current and previous posts. So you can access the information anytime you want! We’ll also be able to have pictures and video embedded. And you’ll be able to comment on the articles in the newsletter and provide me with feedback easily so that I can grow and provide you with what you need! I would greatly appreciate your feedback, so please make comments or send me emails to let me know what you think or make suggestions for future content.

I’m very excited about this and am already working on the first edition! You can expect to see that here in the next week or so. Then, there’ll be new posts every few weeks. I’m not sure yet if there’s a way for me to notify you whenever there’s a new post, but I’m looking into that. If not, then I’ll set a specific day of the month to put up the new posts so you’ll know when to check in and won’t miss anything!

Just keep stitchin’
