Pricing Information

Angel Threads Quilting offers hand-guided and computerized machine quilting services. We offer a variety of quilting services, including edge-to-edge (allover) designs and custom quilting to your specifications. We work in a clean, smoke-free environment.

Deposit: 50% deposit is required when your quilt is received by us. Full payment is required upon completion. Checks returned for any reason are subject to a $30 return check fee. Your quilt will not be returned until full payment is received. We do not accept post dated checks. Credit cards are welcome.

Thread: We have many colors and types of thread available to choose from. Each quilt will incur a $4 thread fee for a single, solid color thread. There will be an additional $2 fee for each additional thread used. Variegated and specialty threads are more expensive.

Batting: You may supply your own batting or purchase batting from us. If you choose to supply your own batting, your batting MUST be pieced as needed, cut squarely and be a minimumof 6" wider and 6" longer than your quilt top. Please leave it in the original packaging if possible so we know what type of batting it is, and the quilting requirements listed on the package. (NOTE: Please read the package before choosing your batting. Some lesser quality battings require more dense quilting, which will result in a higher quilting fee.)  We carry Quilter's Dream battings and Hobbs 80/20.

Backing: We do carry a small selection of wide backing fabrics in popular colors.

Preparing Your Quilt:

Top

Do not leave any pins or basting in your quilt top.

Make sure your quilt is square. (If it isn't square you could end up with puckers or pleats because of excess or uneven fabric.)

If there is piecing in the outside border, please stay stitch the edges.

Trim loose threads on your quilt. They can show under light fabrics and can get caught on the foot of the machine causing a hole.

Your top should be pressed and checked for loose seams.

Please remove any pet hair or smoke odor.

Please indicate if your quilt has a direction, pin a note to the top edge with a safety pin.

Do not add any embellishment (beads, buttons, etc) to your quilt prior to quilting. These should be added later as they can be torn off during the quilting process. If your quilt is received with these embellishments, it will be returned unquilted.

Borders should be flat. If not, this may cause tucks, pleats, or fullness.

I do not fix piecing problems, or make repairs to quilts. I will quilt it in the condition I receive it.

Backing:

Do not pin or baste your backing with your quilt top.

Your backing should be square. It may be pieced, but it must be square to be loaded on the frame properly.

If your backing is pieced, press seams open. I also recommend having your backing seams horizontal.

Trim selvage edges from your fabric because they are woven tighter and will affect the quilting.

It should be 6 " wider and 6" longer than the quilt top. If it is not large enough, it will be returned unquilted.

It should not be larger than this either as excess fabric causes distortion.

Press your backing well and fold it neatly. I do not press backings.

If your back is directional, please pin a note to the top edge with a safety pin.

Quilt Design: If you have a design or idea in mind, please be sure to let us know. Or you can allow us to choose a design to compliment your quilt top.

Basic Quilting: .015 to .025 cents per square inch. These designs go from side to side on your quilt, regardless of the piecing design.  Often the more simple allover patterns are the least expensive method of quilting. However, some patterns are more expensive than others due to the complexity, density and the amount of thread used in these designs.  Minimum $50.

Semi-Custom Quilting: .025 to .035 cents per square inch. These may include allover designs in the center of your quilt, with separate border patterns. No stitch-in-the-ditch is included in this price range. Again, the price would vary depending on the complexity and density of the chosen quilting designs. Minimum $65.

Custom Quilting:  .035 to .045 cents per square inch. This includes many different types of quilting, including stitch-in-the-ditch, small meandering, feathers, wreaths, sashing designs, corner stones, multiple borders, block motifs, crosshatching, outlining and echo quilting. Some designs may be accomplished by using templates or stencils. Minimum $75

Heirloom Quilting: .05 to .065 cents per square inch. This level of quilting includes everything in the custom quilting category as well as trapunto, small background quilting, and patterns designed specifically for a particular quilt. Minimum $150.
